- The Competition Tribunal was created in 1986 when Parliament enacted major reforms of Canada's competition law and replaced the Combines Investigation Act with the Competition Act.
The Tribunal is a specialized tribunal that combines expertise in economics and business with expertise in law. It hears and decides all applications made under Parts VII.1 and VIII of the Competition Act as informally and quickly as the circumstances and consideration of fairness allow. The Tribunal is a strictly adjudicative body that operates independently of any government department. It does not have investigative powers nor does it provide advice to government. It has no function other than that associated with the hearing of applications and issuance of orders.

Επίσης, όσον αφορά την προστασία των προσωπικών δεδομένων στον τομέα των ηλεκτρονικών επικοινωνιών, η ΑΠΔΠΧ εφαρμόζει τον νόμο 3471/2006 που αντίστοιχα ενσωματώνει στο εθνικό δίκαιο την Ευρωπαϊκή Οδηγία 58/2002.
Πρόεδρος της Αρχής είναι ο Χρίστος Γεραρής, Επίτιμος Πρόεδρος Συμβουλίου της Επικρατείας.

- The Israel Antitrust Authority (IAA) is an independent government enforcement agency established in 1994 under an amendment to the Restrictive Trade Practices Act, 5748-1988 (Antitrust Law) . The IAA is mandated to prevent market power through merger control and anti-cartel enforcement, to restrain abuse by dominant firms of their positions and to preserve competition in the various markets. It is thus vested with powers to initiate civil and criminal proceedings and also has the power to order monopolies not to act in a manner which constitutes abuse of dominant position. While the IAA has an important enforcement function, the Antitrust Law also provides for any person to independently seek a remedy from the Court.
